BOYS, GUNS & VIOLENCE
This photo collection delves into the pervasive culture of violence and gun glorification that has entrenched patriarchal norms and perpetuated colonisation, particularly impacting marginalised communities such as women and people of colour. Through the art of photography, I aim to critique these norms and expose the harmful effects caused by the normalisation of guns and violence. My work aims to inspire viewers to think critically, examine their own relationship with guns and violence, and to actively work towards dismantling the systems of power that uphold them. As an artist, I use my camera to challenge the conventional norms and question the underlying assumptions about gender, power, and violence in our society. My photography raises important questions about the nature of power and its relationship to violence and control, calling for a more just and equitable society where all individuals, regardless of their background, can live in peace and security, free from the threat of oppression and violence.
